Police beat Feb. 13
Heroin, DUI charges: Erik J. Wingard, 29, of Pittsburgh, was charged this week by state police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and traffic violations from an Oct. 6 traffic stop on Adams Avenue in Canonsburg. Police said he had heroin in his vehicle. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Marijuana, DUI charges: Jordan T. Allen, 20, of 60 E. Katherine Ave., Washington, was charged this week by state police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, DUI and traffic violations stemming from a Jan. 10 traffic stop on North Hewitt Avenue at Henderson Avenue, Canton. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft, forgery charges: David C. Liggett, 27, of 66 Monarch St., Canton, was charged this week by state police with theft and forgery after he allegedly stole checks from Mark Liggett between May and June, cashing them for $455.87. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft charge: Davoun D. Fuse, 35, of 591 Western Ave., Chartiers, was charged this week by Chartiers police with theft, theft from a vehicle and receiving stolen property. He is accused of stealing a debit card from the vehicle of a McKees Rocks woman while it was parked Jan. 25 at Gabby’s Black and Gold, 2440 1/2 W. Pike St. He then allegedly used the card to make almost $100 in purchases at two businesses. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Drivers identified: North Strabane police identified the drivers of a Canon-McMillan School District bus and a car that collided Thursday morning on Poplar Street. Police said George Jacob Hart, 18, backed out of his driveway at 79 Poplar St. and struck the bus driven by Edward Sifinski of Strabane about 7:40 a.m. No one was injured, including the students heading to class at St. Patrick’s School and Central Christian Academy.
Theft, drug arrest: David Long, 32, who Washington police said is homeless, was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of retail theft, possession of heroin and paraphernalia. Police were called to Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St., after he allegedly stole cookies. Police said they found him with heroin. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail without bond.
Vehicle damaged: Matthew Morris of Washington told Washington police Thursday the windshield of his vehicle was smashed with a rock and the rear window was broken with two weights while the vehicle was parked outside 120 Jollick Manor.
Women cited: Debra Szolek, 51, of 120 Jollick Manor, and Nicole Turney, 28, of 119 Jollick Manor, were cited by Washington police with disorderly conduct after they allegedly caused a disturbance near their homes about 2 a.m. Friday. Police said it was third time during their shift they answered a call involving the women.
