NORTH BRADDOCK (AP) – Police say a 92-year-old woman was found dead and bound with duct tape in her looted Western Pennsylvania home.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman as Amelia Roman of North Braddock.

Roman was pronounced dead around 4:15 p.m. Monday after being found bound in a first-floor bedroom of her two-story home.

Authorities say Roman’s arms and legs were bound and she was on the bed covered with blankets. The suspect apparently broke a back window to get into the house.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Detectives are investigating.

Homicide detectives say the house had been looted.

Roman was found by a neighbor who went in the home after her son called the neighbor saying he couldn’t reach her.
