Court cases
WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty recently before Greene County Judge Louis Dayich. They included:
William A. Cox II, 48, of 100 Main St., Mt. Morris; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, two summary traffic violations; arrested June 15 following a traffic stop, Cox had a blood-alcohol content level of 0.171 percent; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $350 in fines.
Mellany Lynn Whipkey, 43, of 967 Whites Ridge Road, Waynesburg; offense – retail theft; on Oct. 6, Whipkey stole two pairs of jeans from the Fashion Shop in Waynesburg; sentence – 5 days to 1 year in jail, $100 fine, 100 hours of community service.
Amanda Martin, 26, of 291 E. High St., Waynesburg; offenses – two counts of disorderly conduct; charges of endangering the welfare of a child were withdrawn; on May 23, Martin’s two children were found wandering alone in downtown Waynesburg; sentence – 2 years of probation, must continue to follow mandates and recommendations of children and youth services.
Robert Clair Sink III, 23, of 283 Huffman St., Waynesburg; offenses – fleeing or attempting to elude police, two summary traffic violations; on Aug. 20, Sink failed to stop his motorcycle for police attempting to pull him over for speeding; sentence – 6 months of probation, $300 in fines, 35 hours of community service.
Brian Lee Raschella, 25, of 504 Meadow Ave., Mannington, W.Va.; offenses – possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding; a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn; sentence – 1 year of probation, $418.50 fine.
