Police Beat Feb. 19
Bad checks charge: Joshua Buffum, 36, of 8 Morgan St., Canonsburg, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with theft after he allegedly wrote two bad checks, one for $193.94 and another for $194.48, at Shop ‘n Save, West Pike Street, Jan. 18. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Vehicle damaged: Geneva Dingman of 209 Perry Como St. told Canonsburg police Wednesday her vehicle was damaged while it was parked in a lot off Adams Avenue.
Assault arrest: Dakota Taylor Reyna, 21, of 40 Belair Drive, Canton, was arrested Wednesday by state police after he allegedly held a knife to the throat of Shunell Larae Gardner during an altercation at their apartment. She told police he grabbed her by the arm when she tried to leave and held a knife to her throat. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. Reyna was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Unauthorized use charge: Faith E. Hartzog, 19, of 46 Mill St., Washington, was charged by state police with unauthorized use after she allegedly took a car owned by Mary Louise Hartzog from 193 Marra Ave., Canton, without permission Dec. 15. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Drug charge: Troy Thomas Wilson, 32, of Glendale, W.Va., was charged by state police with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia stemming from a Dec. 16 traffic stop on West Chestnut Street, Canton. Police said they found him with methamphetamine and Suboxone. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
DUI, drug charges: Kody Ryan Ray, 22, of Avella, was charged by state police with driving under the influence of marijuana and possession of marijuana stemming from a Dec. 5 traffic stop after he allegedly was seen going through a stop sign at Jefferson and Hewitt avenues, Canton. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft of services alleged: Daniel O’Carroll, 30, of 232 Main St., Claysville, was charged by state police with theft of services after he allegedly failed to pay $555.75 for a room he rented earlier this month at Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, 975 Sheffield St., Canton. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Paraphernalia charge: Tyler A. Santoro, 18, of 306 Hilltop Lane, Canton, was charged by state police with possession of paraphernalia after they were called Tuesday to his home for a report of a disorderly man with a syringe.
Endangerment arrest: Alaina Irene Black, 29, of 415 Highland Ave., North Charleroi, was arrested Wednesday night by Charleroi Regional Police on charges of terroristic threats and reckless endangerment after she allegedly pointed a gun at her boyfriend and threatened to kill him if he did not get out of her room. Police said they found Black, who was intoxicated, in the bedroom when they arrived. The gun was inside a dresser drawer. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released on her own recognizance, with conditions.
Theft charge: Rhyadh A. Ahmad, 22, of Bergenfield, Ind., was charged by North Franklin police with retail theft after he allegedly stole a jacket and pants from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, Sunday.
Jacket stolen: Keiko Brucker of Bridgeville told North Strabane police Tuesday her black coat with a fake fur hood and leopard print on the inside was stolen while she was at Planet Bounce, 2560 Washington Road, Sunday.
Wallet stolen: A member of Any Time Fitness at Donaldsons Crossroads told police Tuesday someone stole his wallet while he was exercising. The wallet, valued at $20, contained no cash.
Theft arrest: Christopher F. Thomas, 23, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Wednesday by South Strabane police on charges of felony retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly stole items from Walmart, Trinity Point. He had a needle in his pants pocket, police said. Thomas was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Tires cut: Michael Bennett of Washington told Washington police early Thursday three of the four tires on his vehicle were cut while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of Henderson Avenue.
Jailed on warrant: Robert Semulka, 48, of 314 N. Main St., Houston, was taken into custody on an adult probation warrant Wednesday at a home in the 200 block of Donnan Avenue, Washington police said. He also faces drug charges after police said he was found with several stamp bags of heroin, Suboxone and $1,727. He was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant.
