C-M track repairs stall
CANONSBURG – There is no timeline for completing repairs on Canon-McMillan School District’s track as the board approved diagnostic testing and equipment purchases for use at neighboring schools’ tracks.
The unanimous votes to have Professional Service Industries take core samples beneath the track surface for $3,500 and to move $2,000 from reserves to purchase portable track equipment for the spring season comes after a stoppage of work from Nagle Athletic Surfaces Inc.
“They (Nagle) are not doing any work right now. PSI is doing testing to help us understand how best to move forward. There were installation issues, and this was scheduled to have been completed in August,” Superintendent Michael Daniels said.
The 2016 spring track season will have athletes using nearby schools’ track and field facilities.
“Chartiers-Houston has really helped us out a lot, and we appreciate that,” Daniels said.
