STORY UPDATED JUNE 10, 2020: Charges against both Corey J. Talley and Christopher R. Duncan were dismissed.

Two Washington County men were charged Friday with kidnapping after a woman claimed they held her against her will.

According to Washington police, Amy Cole was in the process of moving from 984 Jefferson Ave. after midnight Feb. 4 when her ex-boyfriend, Corey J. Talley, 38, of 986 Jefferson Ave., Washington, and his cousin, Christopher R. Duncan, 25, of 128 First St., Marianna, arrived and forced her to leave with them. As police responded to a separate incident in the building, the men allegedly made Cole hide until police left.

As they were walking near 925 Allison Ave., someone yelled, “There they are,” from a passing automobile. Talley and Duncan allegedly forced Cole to lie on the ground in the woods for about two hours before a third person picked them up and took them to a home on Ridge Avenue.

At the home, Talley allegedly threatened Cole and struck her in the mouth, chipping her tooth and cutting her mouth. Cole said her identification and cellphone were taken.

Talley and Duncan then allegedly forced Cole to walk to a gas station with them when she escaped, running to the state police barracks on Murtland Avenue.

Both men are charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count each of kidnapping and unlawful restraint. Talley is also charged with one count each of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.

Charges were filed with District Judge Robert Redlinger and will be sent by summons. Talley is in Washington County jail on other charges.
