GOP schedules workshop on how to run for political office
The Washington County Republican Party is hosting an approximately four-hour workshop beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at its headquarters, Room 206, 75 E. Maiden St., Washington, about running for office either this year or in the next few years.
Offices such as state representative, state senator and U.S. senator will be on the ballot in 2016, but school board, local and county offices will be part of the 2017 election cycle.
A person who does not plan to be a candidate but would like to help someone run for office might also benefit from this class, according to Angela DeThomas, a Washington County member of the Republican State Committee, who said the subject matter will cover “the nuts and bolts of the election process in Pennsylvania.”
Anyone who would like more information or to RSVP can contact DeThomas at scouterangela@hotmail.com.
