Vestaburg man charged in gun threat
A Vestaburg man is in custody on charges he threatened to kill his wife early Tuesday at their home.
State police Wednesday arrested Richard David Pierce, 57, of 105 First St., on charges of making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, court records show.
Police were sent to Pierce’s residence about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday after Sherry Ann Pierce complained her husband placed a gun to her left temple and also to her chest in their bedroom, police stated in the affidavit supporting the criminal complaint against her husband.
Police said they found a loaded handgun in the dining room and two rounds of ammunition in the bedroom.
Richard Pierce allegedly admitted to police he took the weapon downstairs that morning.
He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
