Officer struck in face with baton while breaking up fight
PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Port Authority officer has been injured after he was hit in the face with a baton while trying to break up a fight on a bus in Pittsburgh.
Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolph says the officer was accidentally struck in the face with another officer’s baton in the incident around 9:40 p.m. Monday.
Two people were fighting on a street and then continued fighting after getting on the bus at Sixth Avenue and Smithfield Street. The two people were arrested.
The officer was transported to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for blurred vision.
