Three people were injured, including the 22-year-old driver of a stolen truck, in a five-vehicle accident about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on Walnut Street in Washington.

Joseph Boone was driving a Chevy Silverado stolen from Washington Hospital when he crashed into two cars while traveling downhill on Walnut Street and careened into parked cars, according to Washington police.

Witnesses at Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church said the truck became airborne before crashing onto a sedan parked in the church lot.

The two other unidentified occupants were taken to Washington Hopsital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to authorities.

Boone was treated at the hospital and placed in Washington County jail. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Details of his charges were not available at press time.
