CHARLEROI – A Charleroi man wanted on a felony warrant in a Donora theft case was apprehended Friday at his residence, where he was then arrested for heroin possession.

Charleroi Regional police served the warrant on Zachary J. Greyshock, 23, after they found him asleep in his bedroom at 308 Crest Ave. about 9:10 a.m. when officers were let into the residence and told where to find him, court records show.

Police in Charleroi said they found 11 stamp bags of heroin on his bed and drug paraphernalia in the room.

District Judge Larry Hopkins sent Greyshock to Washington County jail on $25,000 bond, where he also is being held without bond on a probation warrant.

Meanwhile, Donora police accuse Greyshock of stealing jewelry, electronics and copper fittings valued at $4,395 from Richard Burkhardt’s residence in the 100 block of Waddell Avenue between Oct. 28 and Nov. 2, court records indicate.

Donora police said they linked Greyshock to the case after finding a receipt at Monongahela Iron & Metal Co. in Monongahela that showed he received $222 for the fittings from the salvage yard.

Police said they were unable to recover any of the other stolen items.

Greyshock is charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft and receiving stolen property.
