WAYNESBURG – Six criminal defendants were entered into the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program Monday by Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman.
Those accepted into the program must serve at least one year probation and pay all fines and costs. Defendants charged with driving under the influence of alcohol also may have their driving privileges suspended and be required to refrain from the use or possession of alcohol.
Those who successfully complete the program can petition the court to have their criminal records expunged.
Thurman Lee Kennedy, 53, of Paynesville, W.Va., charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and nine summary traffic violations; arrested during a traffic stop March 13, Kennedy had a blood-alcohol content of 0.178 percent.
John Richard Phillips, 19, of 183 Neff Road, Jefferson, charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary traffic violation; stopped for a traffic violation Feb. 28, Phillips was in possession of a marijuana grinder and marijuana.
Kody Allan Scott, 19, of 206 S. Washington St., Waynesburg, charged with loitering or prowling at night and criminal mischief; a charge of criminal trespass was withdrawn; Aug. 19, Scott broke into Modern Image on Lincoln Street in Waynesburg.
Troy Lee Shultz, 21, of 361 Water Dam Road, Waynesburg, charged with theft and receiving stolen property. On March 26, he and two others stole copper wire from Stallion Services in Cumberland Township.
Rachel Marie Hopkins, 34, of 111 Renner Creek Road, New Freeport, charged with forgery and theft. Between May 1 and Oct. 24, 2014, Hopkins stole $1,487 from her employer, Harry Litten, by altering checks.
Dustin Allan Gephart, 21, of 400 E. High St., Waynesburg, charged with theft and receiving stolen property; July 26, Gephart stole a package delivered to a house on Elm Street in Waynesburg.
