Extension offers food safety course
Licensed food establishments now must employ one supervisory employee who has successfully completed a food safety training class, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
Completing the training and passing the associated exam brings licensed food establishments into compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Food Employee Certification Act.
To help food establishments meet this requirement, the Penn State Extension is offering a food safety Training course in Waynesburg.
The course will be held at Greene County Penn State Extension Office in Waynesburg from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and Feb. 2.
An exam will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 2.
The course fee of $185 per person covers the cost of the ServSafe course book, instructional materials and refreshment breaks.
