Lawyer seeks two trials in case of slain woman buried in yard
PITTSBURGH (AP) – A lawyer wants two separate trials for a Western Pennsylvania man accused of killing his girlfriend, keeping her in a refrigerator and then burying her.
George Biegenwald was charged in August with homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of 50-year-old Donna See. Biegenwald also faces an assault charge involving another woman.
Authorities say that after See’s head struck a dresser in his Glenshaw home, Biegenwald let her bleed out in a bathtub, stuffed her body in a basement refrigerator and buried her.
The attorney for the Glenshaw man said Tuesday trying the charges together could result in an unfair trial.
Prosecutors say the cases show a pattern of abuse toward women.
The Pittsburgh judge says she will take some time to make a ruling.
