NEW EAGLE – Ringgold School Board banned the use of e-cigarettes on school grounds during a meeting Wednesday in the district administration building in New Eagle.

The action was taken because the district’s tobacco-use policy didn’t address the rise in popularity of electronic cigarettes, which have become a problem in the district, according to the action item on the board’s agenda.

In other business, the board authorized the administration to petition Washington County Court to appoint Walter J. Pustelak as a school police officer, at a rate of $16 an hour.
