A Washington man was arrested early Tuesday after he allegedly forced his way into an apartment his girlfriend was visiting after twice being warned by Washington police to stay way from the residence.

Michael Dwayne Wallace Jr., 42, of 161 Hall Ave., was taken into custody about 1 a.m. at the home of Asia El Bey at 257 N. Franklin St. after he allegedly forced his way into her apartment by kicking open the door. He allegedly shoved his girlfriend, 39-year-old Alesha Manker of Washington, and tore off her shirt. Police found Wallace and placed him in handcuffs.

The incident Tuesday was the third time police were called to Bey’s apartment in a little more than three hours. The first complaint about Wallace came into the 911 dispatch center at 9:50 p.m. There was an open line on a call placed at the residence, with people yelling in the background. When police arrived, several people were on the porch. Bey told police she wanted Wallace removed from her apartment. He was told not to come back.

Manker told police that she and Wallace had been arguing at their home.

Police were called back to the apartment at 10:45 p.m. for a complaint Wallace was knocking on the door, trying to talk with Manker. He was told to leave and not return.

Wallace was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, harassment, loitering and prowling at night. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 8 before District Judge Robert Redlinger. City police also will charge Wallace with two counts of summary harassment stemming from the incidents at Bey’s home Monday night.
