Fugitive caught in Charleroi
A North Carolina man wanted for statutory rape in that state is in Washington County jail after being arrested Wednesday in Charleroi.
According to the complaint, U.S. marshals contacted the Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force to apprehend Richard Olexa, 25, who faces charges of statutory rape of a child and indecent liberties with a child in Alleghany County, N.C.
Olexa was arrested at 7 a.m. Wednesday at 504 Seventh St., Charleroi. He was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and will be extradited to North Carolina before Feb. 26.
