Consol misses 4Q profit forecasts
CANONSBURG (AP) – Consol Energy Inc. (CNX) on Friday reported fourth-quarter profit of $30.4 million.
On a per-share basis, the Southpointe-based company said it had profit of 13 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 11 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 5 cents per share.
The natural gas company posted revenue of $761.9 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $374.9 million, or $1.64 per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $3.11 billion.
Consol shares have declined 15 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has declined slightly more than 7 percent. The stock has declined 77 percent in the last 12 months.
