MONONGAHELA – A Donora man accused of abusing his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son waived his charges in the case Thursday to Washington County Court.

The suspect, Bruce A. Pantojas, 23, of 1079 Marelda Ave., waived the case shortly before he was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Mark Wilson, a Washington County assistant district attorney said.

Pantojas was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of children after the boy was treated April 30 at Children’s Hospital for a broken arm and significant bruising on his face, court records show.

Police claim the child’s mother and Pantojas initially said the boy injured himself in a fall from the couch, that Pantojas eventually admitted he grabbed the boy’s arm when he was having a temper tantrum on the floor in Pantojas’ residence.

Pantojas is free on $25,000 bond.
