BROWNSVILLE – Police said a Fayette County man has died after he was shot at a Brownsville housing project and then driven to a police station in a private vehicle.

State police said Taekwon Commodore, 28, of Republic, died after he was taken by ambulance about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday from the Brownsville police station to Uniontown Hospital.

Police said Commodore was among two groups of people involved in an altercation early Tuesday at Snowden Terrace Apartments off of Clover Street. A person in one of the groups displayed a handgun and began to shoot it into the air, causing two males and two females in the other group to flee between apartment buildings. The person with the gun then fired it in the direction of the victim, police said.
