Woman’s body found near river in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – Morgantown police are investigating the discovery of a body near the Monongahela River.

Police Chief Ed Preston says in a news release that officers found the body of a 41-year-old woman Monday near a rail trail.

Preston says there were no initial signs of foul play. The body has been sent to a medical examiner to confirm the woman’s identification and determine a cause of death.
