Trio jailed on heroin charges stemming from Mon City traffic stop
MONONGAHELA – Two Donora men and a Monongahela woman were arrested on charges they possessed a large quantity of heroin during a traffic stop Saturday in the Mon Valley.
Monongahela police charged Tina M. Russo, 26, Aaron P. Trilli, 29, and Troy J. Jericho, 28, with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia following the 3:45 a.m. traffic stop at a convenience store in the 100 block of East Main Street, court records show.
A police officer followed the vehicle Jericho was driving because it had been parked in an area known for drug activity, and pulled it over when the driver didn’t use a turn signal at an intersection and because the vehicle had a loud exhaust, the affidavit indicates.
Police said an officer approached the vehicle after it parked at a gasoline pump.
According to police, the officer found 185 stamp bags of heroin in a bag tucked behind the door to the car’s gas cap. Also in the bag were 2 1/2 Xanax tablets, police alleged.
District Judge Mark Wilson later sent Trilli, Russo and Jericho to Washington County Jail, each on $50,000 bond.
