WAYNESBURG – A Waynesburg man died Sunday when his motorcycle ran off Route 21 at Browns Creek Road in West Waynesburg and struck a parked truck.

Donald F. Crawford Jr., 36, was pronounced dead at WHS-Greene following the 12:35 p.m. crash, state police said.

Police said Crawford was driving a 1987 Suzuki motorcycle west at a high rate of speed when the cycle ran off the right side of the road into a parking lot, where it struck a parked pickup truck.

Police said Crawford was wearing a helmet.

Greene County Deputy Coroner Mary Lewis pronounced Crawford dead at the hospital at 2:08 p.m. Lewis said the cause of death is pending results of an autopsy, which was to be conducted Monday by Dr. Cyril Wecht in Pittsburgh.
