Greene County community events
The Coleman Lee Band, a country/rock band based in Waynesburg, will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Greene County Fairgrounds as part of the Waynesburg Lions Club Sounds of Summer concert series. Those who attend are asked to bring old eyeglasses to donate to the Lions Club. Nonperishable food items also will be collected to be donated to Greene County families. Pets and alcohol are prohibited at the concerts.
A community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Rogersville United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall. The meal will include hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, baked beans, dessert and beverage. Dinner is free, but donations are accepted. Carryout is available and everyone is welcome. A country music concert will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in New Freeport fire hall with Brad Crow and the Cutups performing along with Sam Longwell. Admission is $4, and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.
