A Speers man who is in custody in two armed robberies in the Mon Valley was charged again with theft, bringing the number of cases against him to seven since May 10.

Monessen police Thursday charged Christopher Carroll, 30, an inmate at Washington County jail, with allegedly conspiring with Kaisie L. Hunsberger, 23, of Oakdale, to steal a wallet containing more than $1,200 June 29 from a Monessen shop owner, court records show.

The wallet belonging to Rick Frantz, owner of Ric’s Kustom Polishing at 1600 Grand Boulevard, was later recovered from a Rostraver Township motel where Carroll was staying, police claim. Frantz told police he suspected his wallet disappeared while Carroll, another man and Hunsberger came to his business wanting to sell him ammunition, the court record shows.

District Judge Joseph Dalfonso set Carroll’s bond at $5,000 Thursday on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. Hunsberger will receive the same charges in a summons.

Carroll is being held on $225,000 bond in cases alleging he stole guns and $30,000 from his father in May, armed robberies last month in Rostraver and North Charleroi, escaping from his arraignment and stealing a car July 1 in Bentleyville and driving it to a Walmart in Rostraver.
