New Eagle man jailed on heroin charges
A cellphone turned over to police led to the arrest of a New Eagle man on charges of selling heroin.
Nicholas Scott Henderson, 31, of 509 Maderia St., was allegedly in possession of 30 bags of suspected heroin when Monongahela police took him into custody.
According to police, an unidentified person came to the police station Saturday and gave officers a cellphone. In the process of looking through the phone, a text came through, asking if the recipient wanted to buy three “buns” (bundles of heroin). Officers set up a meeting in the 1200 block of Main Street, Monongahela.
When officers saw Henderson walking in the area at the designated time, they called the number from the text. Henderson allegedly answered the phone and officers took him into custody.
Henderson was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication device and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in jail on $50,000 bond.
