Police: Woman fatally stabs brother during fight
PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Pittsburgh woman is in custody after authorities say she fatally stabbed her brother in the kitchen of her home after they got into a fight.
Thirty-year-old Monica Brown was charged Sunday with homicide in the slaying of 27-year-old Machi Brown.
Investigators say the altercation started Saturday night when Monica Brown confronted her brother about slapping his girlfriend. Police say Monica Brown told police her brother began dragging her around the kitchen by the hair and grabbed her by the neck when she tried to fight him.
Police say she grabbed a knife to scare him but she told authorities he continued attacking her. Detectives say she stabbed him twice and accidentally stabbed herself in the hand.
It’s unclear if she has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
