Canon-McMillan to graduate 349
Canon-McMillan High School will graduate 349 seniors at commencement exercises at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Jonathan Klan is the valedictorian, Grace Audrey Harris is the salutatorian and Valerie Galati is the honor graduate.
Klan is a son of Robert and Nicole Klan of North Strabane.
He received distinguished honors all four years of high school, the Harvard Book Award, the Marine Corps Academic Achievement Award, the Army Reserve Scholar Athlete Award and National Merit Commendation.
Klan was the senior class treasurer, a member of the Math League, Southwestern Academic League, National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. He also ran cross country and track.
He will attend the University of Pittsburgh with a full tuition scholarship to pursue a degree in engineering.
Harris is a daughter of Mark and Nancie Harris of Canonsburg.
She received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, St. Vincent College Tuition Exchange Scholarship and the Canon-McMillan Education Association Elementary Education Scholarhip.
Harris was a member of the marching and concert band, Math League and French Club. She also participated in tennis and swimming.
She will attend St. Vincent College to pursue degrees in early childhood education and mathematics.
Galati is a daughter of Victor and Julie Galati of Canonsburg.
She received the Joseph and Elsie Solobay Memorial Scholarship and was a National Merit finalist and an AP Scholar with honors.
Galati was a founding member of the GSA, a member of the Latin Honor Society, National Honor Society, symphonic and marching band and was a musical pit leader.
She will attend the University of Richmond to pursue a degree in biology.
