Fire crews from five departments were called late Monday for a fire that destroyed a vacant mobile home on Ankrom Road, Amwell Township.

Lone Pine fire Chief Keith VanVarenberg said that it was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Firefighters were limited to an exterior attack on the fire, he added, bringing it under control in about 20 minutes.

VanVarenberg said the trailer was vacant, although a man would reportedly stay there from time to time. The trailer had an addition built on to it, he added.

The cause of the fire was unknown, VanVarenberg said Tuesday morning. He was contacting the state police fire marshal.

Assisting Lone Pine at the scene were firefighters from Amity, Marianna and North Franklin and South Strabane townships.
