There will be single-lane restrictions for more than four months on Route 18 in Greene County between its divergence with Route 21 in Franklin Township and the Washington County line, the state Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.

Work begins Monday and will continue each day, weather permitting, from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a tentative completion date set for Oct. 28.

Workers will be performing base repairs, resurfacing, buttress wall repairs, drainage, guardrail upgrades, tree trimming, signing and delineation during the lane restrictions. During the repair of the buttress wall, the single-lane restriction will be in effect around the clock until completion two days later.

The contractor for the $5 million project is Golden Eagle Construction.

PennDOT is asking motorists to drive with caution and be alert when entering a work zone.
