Greene County community events
The Cornerstone Genealogical Society of Greene County will hold its annual picnic Tuesday at the Greene County Museum. The picnic starts at 6 p.m. and those who wish to attend are encouraged to bring with them a “Greene County phrase” that has been passed down throughout the years.
Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off water service on Washington Street between High and Greene streets in Waynesburg from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to perform system upgrades. Customers in that area might experience low pressure or no water service, so they should keep some containers of water available to minimize any disruption.
The 2016 Greene County Fair book is now available online for those who plan to submit entries in this year’s fair at www.greenecountyfair.org. A limited number of printed books are available for those without online access at the Greene County Extension Office, 26 W. High St., Waynesburg, or the Greene County Office Building, 93 E.
