Hearing postponed for Rostraver homicide suspect
A preliminary hearing for a Rostraver Township man accused of killing his wife last month was postponed Monday because the district judge assigned to the case was on vacation, a court official said.
A new date had yet to be set for the hearing for Edward Paul Friday, 80, who was accused June 3 of causing a fatal knife wound to the neck of his wife, Wilma Jean Friday, 82, in their home May 22. The court was waiting to hear from the suspect’s attorney before setting a new date for the hearing.
Rostraver police were summoned to the couple’s home at 5127 Cedar Hills Boulevard, where Edward Friday, who had knife wounds to his wrists, claimed he and his wife were injured in a botched suicide pact.
Wilma Friday was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, where she died two days later.
