WAYNESBURG – Seven criminal defendants were entered into the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program Monday by Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.

Those accepted into the program must serve at least one year probation and pay all fines and costs. Defendants charged with driving under the influence of alcohol also may have their driving privileges suspended and be required to refrain from the use or possession of alcohol.

Those who successfully complete the program can petition the court to have their criminal records expunged.

Amanda Wooten, 27, of 119 Kurtz Lane, Jefferson, charged with retail theft. Wooten was arrested April 25, 2015, after stealing $167 worth of merchandise from Walmart in Franklin Township.

Keith Douglas Watson, 26, of 151 S. Washington St., Waynesburg, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol; arrested Aug. 8, after his vehicle struck a parked car in Waynesburg, Watson had a blood-alcohol content of 0.145 percent.

Nicholas Swarrow, 19, of 238 Hemlock Road, Waynesburg, charged with DUI and five summary violations; arrested Nov. 1, Swarrow had a BAC of 0.102 percent.

Zachary Adam Smitley, 22, of 102 Lodge Hall Road, Dilliner, charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; the items were found among his possession July 21 following a crash on Bald Hill Church.

Jeffrey Scott Capps, 53, of Hawkins, Texas, charged with DUI and three summary violations; arrested Nov. 12, Capps had a BAC of 0.188 percent.

Jessica Bender, 24, of 1002 W. George St., Carmichaels, charged with endangering the welfare of a child; at 9:45 p.m. June 18, Bender’s child was found wandering along the highway near Junction Deli in Cumberland Township.

David Henry Stauffer, 23, of 52 ½ W. Greene St., Waynesburg, charged with criminal trespass and harassment; on Dec. 22, he broke into his neighbor’s apartment after his roommate, who was at the neighbors, would not return home.
