Accused cocaine dealer in federal custody
A man with an unresolved decade-old indictment accusing him of trading large quantities of cocaine for cash or guns in the Washington area was arrested on a federal bench warrant.
Mark Bradford “Young” Yarbrough Jr., 30, spent seven hours Thursday in Washington County jail before he was turned over to federal authorities, a jail official said. He was detained in Washington County about 4 a.m. after being taken into custody on a the warrant by state police.
The 2006 indictment accused Yarbrough of selling cocaine from 1165 Buena Vista St. in Canton Township to a confidential informant while federal investigators had the deal under surveillance during May of that year, court records alleged.
Three confidential informants assisted investigators in the case, and one of them claimed at the time to have purchased cocaine from Yarbrough several times a month for the past 1 1/2 years. Yarbrough was living then at 47 Aylesworth Ave. in East Washington.
The informants also told federal authorities they saw a long rifle and an assault-type weapon with Yarbrough at the Canton residence.
Federal court records indicate there has been no movement on the indictment since Yarbrough’s attorney, Jay K. Reisinger, withdrew from the case in June 2006.
