Motorcyclist severely injured in hit-and-run
A motorcyclist was severely injured Saturday afternoon in a hit-and-run collision near Mt. Morris, Greene County, state police said.
A motorcycle driven by Michael Smith, 31, address unknown, was traveling west on Bald Hill Road about 5 p.m. when an eastbound dark gray pickup truck made a left turn, knocking Smith from his motorcycle, according to police. Witnesses said the truck then accelerated quickly, running over Smith and fleeing up the ramp to northbound Interstate 79.
Smith was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., with severe injuries.
State police are investigating. No other details are available.
