A motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries in a Saturday afternoon hit-and-run collision near Mt. Morris, Greene County, remains in a Morgantown, W.Va., hospital.

Michael Smith, 31, of an unknown address, was listed in stable condition Sunday at Ruby Memorial Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

According to police, Smith was traveling west on Bald Hill Road about 5 p.m. Saturday when a dark gray pickup truck traveling in the eastbound lane made a left turn and knocked Smith off his motorcycle. The truck then accelerated quickly, ran over Smith and fled on northbound Interstate 79.

State police are investigating.
