Hearing on proposed Columbia Gas rate hike set

The state Public Utility Commission scheduled a second hearing to gather public input on a proposed rate increase request by Columbia Gas. The hearing will be held at 6 p.m. June 29 in the public meeting room of the Courthouse Square building, 101 W. Beau St., Washington. The company is seeking a 11.2 percent rate hike that would increase the bill for the average residential customer from 77.33 to $86.97.
