Police beat June 21
Assault charge: John R. Zuccaro Jr., 63, of 23 Cross Creek Road, was placed in Washington County jail Saturday for allegedly striking his girlfriend in the face and holding her down by her throat. According to state police, Zuccaro was taken into custody at his home and arraigned before District Judge David Mark. He was placed in jail on $5,000 bond on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. A preliminary hearing is scheduled June 30 before District Judge Gary Havelka.
Assault charges: David J. Debold, 55, of 333 Wash Ave., Charleroi, was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail Sunday on $50,000 bond. According to Carroll Township police, while a patient at Monongahela Valley Hospital, 1163 Country Club Road, Debold was asked to return to his room early Sunday morning but became violent and took off his clothes. He allegedly grabbed the neck of a security guard and the arm of another. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of harassment, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 1 before Mark.
Fire investigation: A state fire marshal is asking anyone with information on a June 15 camper fire at 24 Penn Ave., Clarksville, to contact state police at 724-223-5200.
Assault charge: Christopher Slasor, 24, of 389 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, was placed in Washington County jail Friday on charges of simple assault and harassment. According to Hanover police, Brooke Williams reported Slasor grabbed her by the neck and threw her into a car tire during a custody exchange at his home. Slasor was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 30 before District Judge Gary Havelka.
Assaults alleged: Margaret Novak, 45, and Joseph Pager, 46, both of 405 Scott St., Monessen, are charged by city police with simple assault and harassment over allegations they assaulted each other in their residence about 3:35 a.m. June 5. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges Thursday in summonses.
Purse stolen: An employee of Valley Brook Country Club told police Saturday someone came into an unsecured office at the facility and stole her Coach purse, which contained $500 in cash.
Theft charge: Amanda M. Rossi, 33, of 708 Park St., California, was charged with retail theft and defiant trespass for a June 15 incident at Walmart, 100 Sara Way, Rostraver Township.
Michigan residents charged: Ashley N. Heard, 27, of Southfield, Mich., was charged by Rostraver police with criminal attempt, possessing an instrument of crime and carrying a false identification, and William A. Lucas, 30, of Ferndale, Mich., was charged with tampering with evidence after an incident June 4 at 870 Rostraver Road, Belle Vernon.
Theft charge: Ashlee R. Kirkwood, 24, of 215 Duncan St., McKeesport, was charged with retail theft after a June 11 incident at Walmart, 100 Sara Way, Rostraver Township.
Possession charge: Dina M. Greco, 28, of 420 Burns Lane, Ruffsdale, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with a June 10 incident at 915 Route 906, Webster.
Theft charge: Monicca R. Lee, 47, of 350 Zundel St., Belle Vernon, was charged with retail theft and defiant trespass for an incident at Walmart, 100 Sara Way, Rostraver Township, June 15.
Assault charges: Robert J. Russell, 33, of 305 Matthews Road, Belle Vernon, was charged by Rostraver police with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and public drunkenness stemming from a June 12 incident at Rostraver Apartments.
Theft charge: Dana D. Marmie, 44, of 218 Municipal Drive, Belle Vernon, was charged with retail theft and defiant trespass for a June 9 incident at Shop ‘n Save, 600 Plaza Drive, Belle Vernon.
Theft charges: Kaiesha Nicole E. Montgomery, 21, of Pittsburgh, was placed in Washington County jail for allegedly taking clothes from eight stores at Tanger Outlets Friday. According to South Strabane police, Montgomery has nine previous retail theft convictions and is on probation in Allegheny County. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in jail on $10,000 bond on charges of retail theft and criminal conspiracy. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 30 before District Judge Jay Weller.
Equipment stolen: John Schneider of Morgantown, W.Va., reported $7,700 of DJ and audio equipment was stolen from his car when it was parked at Tanger Outlets between 7 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Friday.
Theft charge: Charles R. Thomas of 1149 Old National Pike, Fredericktown, was cited for retail theft for allegedly stealing three DVDs from Walmart, Trinity Point.
Mother and daughter charged: Jean A. McLaughlin, 44, of 1946 Park Ave., Washington, and her daughter, Linda L. McLaughlin, 19, same address, were placed in Washington County jail Sunday for allegedly striking each other in the face during a dispute. Jean McLaughlin was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, simple assault and harassment and jailed by District Judge David Mark on $5,000 bond. Linda McLaughlin was charged with simple assault, harassment and purchasing alcohol while a minor. She was arraigned before Mark and jailed on $2,500 bond. Preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Curtis Thompson on June 30.
Theft charge: Rickey Waters, 20, of 91 South Hills Terrace, Brownsville, was charged with retail theft and false identification to law enforcement after a May 7 incident at Family Dollar, 130 Highland Ave. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Attempted robbery: Employees of UniMart, 336 E. Maiden St., reported to Washington police a woman wearing a black hoodie attempted to take money from the store after 10 p.m. Friday. According to the report, the woman told the cashier to give her all the money in the register and showed a small knife. The cashier yelled to coworkers to call police, and the woman fled without taking anything.
Windshield smashed: Fred Snyder reported to Washington police his vehicle’s windshield was smashed while the vehicle was parked at 640 Broad Street from 9 p.m. Saturday to 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
