Little Miss Firecracker
The Little Miss Firecracker Pageant, sponsored by the Waynesburg Lions Club and Waynesburg Sewing Center, will be held at 6 p.m. Monday during the club’s annual Fourth of July celebration at Greene County Fairgrounds. The pageant will take place on the main stage of the grandstand.
It’s a noncompetitive pageant for girls from the ages of five to eight. The participants will appear in patriotic attire and each will be interviewed on stage.
Little Miss Firecracker will be determined by the contestants pulling a wrapped flower from a basket, with the off-colored flower determining the new queen for 2016. The winner will receive a crown, sash, trophy and bouquet.
Last year’s Little Miss Firecracker, Marissa Sue Tharp, will crown the new queen.
The contestants for 2016 are:
• Gloria Ann Evans, daughter of Sally Lemley and John Evans of Waynesburg
• Alaya Rae King, daughter of Lauren Keys of Carmichaels
• Kenlee Lauren Machesky, daughter of Brian and Abby Machesky of Waynesburg
• Alaina Jonelle Moore, daughter of John Moore and Shannon Fuller of Clarksville
• Joscelyn Renae Policz, daughter of Shawn and Savannah Policz of Waynesburg
• Kendra Elizabeth Tharp, daughter of Natasha and Cory Tharp of Wind Ridge
The contestants will rehearse at 6 p.m. Sunday on the stage.
