Man charged in park fight
An Allegheny County teenager was arrested Monday by Monongahela police after a 12-year-old boy was reportedly hit with a piece of wood at a New Eagle park.
Danny Sergeon, 19, of North Versailles, is accused of waving knives and threatening others.
Police were called to Tubby Hall Park about 5:45 p.m. Several teenagers and other juveniles told officers that a group of older teens had come looking to fight with them.
Sergeon claimed the others had come to the park to beat up his girlfriend. The boy was reportedly hit with the piece of wood thrown by another teen trying to defend himself against Sergeon, police said.
Sergeon was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, and reckless endangerment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for March 22 before District Judge Mark Wilson.
