Action: The board approved a motion to waive the PSAT testing fees for juniors in the 2016-17 school year so that all students will be afforded the opportunity to take the test. Superintendent Edward Zelich said, “Only about 33 percent take the test now. Next year, all the students will be afforded to take the test. We feel it is important for them to take the test. We have found that their math is lacking and this will help them see where they need to be.”

The board learned the confirmation class from Mary, Mother of Church in Charleroi and Our Lady of the Valley in Donora held a Super Sunday collection that raised $800 for the Harvest Bounty, a once-a-week program that sends a package of food home with eligible middle school and elementary school students.

Next meeting: 7 p.m. March 22 at the community room.
