Cornerstone Genealogical Society of Greene County will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the log cabin courthouse on Greene Street. This month’s topic will be on the history of Richhill Township’s Fairview Church presented by Pastor Nelson Boone. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Greene County Veterans Affairs will hold a veterans’ outreach at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Jefferson Senior Center. Veterans can make an appointment or stop by to learn about services, including pension, compensation, disability, health care, life insurance, funeral and burial claims and retroactive benefits, said Dalene Watson, office director. Town & Country Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at Thursday, March 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Hewitt Presbyterian Church in Rices Landing. The program is “Non-Point Sources Pollution” by Jared Zinn, watershed specialist for the Greene County Conservation District. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Applications for Town & Country Garden Club’s 2016 annual scholarship are available to any graduating senior attending one of Greene County’s five school districts. Graduating seniors who are pursuing an education in environmental studies, conservation, ecology, forestry, horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, science, or education can apply. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded in May for one academic year. Applicants should contact their respective guidance counselor.
