An Ohio man faces a list of charges after police said he ran nude through a North Strabane Township hotel and attempted to rape a cleaning woman Thursday.

John Duncan Heina, 31, of 6259 Dogwood Lane, North Ridgeville, pulled a fire alarm at the Cambria Suites Hotel on Racetrack Road and told those evacuating he was going to kill himself or have police shoot him, North Strabane police said.

Heina called 911 and claimed to have had a gun, but police said they found no weapons.

Heina ran throughout the third floor naked while chasing a female hotel worker and screaming obscenities, police said. He first trapped her inside a room and restrained her by pinning her arms behind her back before she was able to escape briefly and call the front desk for help, according to police.

Heina reportedly recaptured the victim and took the phone away as she attempted to fight him off with a pen. Heina once again overpowered her and forcibly pressed against her body as he partially removed her blouse, police said.

Two male hotel workers then intervened and were able to separate Heina from the woman. The hotel went on lockdown as police swept the building and captured Heina.

Heina was arraigned Friday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of attempted rape, indecent assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, three counts of terroristic threats and two counts of simple assault.

Police said he was taken to Washington Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
