City man gets probation, fines for selling drugs

A U.S. District Judge sentenced a Washington man to five years of probation and $3,000 in fines as well forfeiture of $200,000 on his conviction of selling controlled substances. Judge Cathy Bissoon handed the order down Monday to Dennis Devenney, Sr., 57, for fraudulently acquiring prescriptions and selling Oxycodone, Opana, Morphine and other painkillers for cash. Devenney was ordered to serve the first six months of his probation under home detention, according to U.S. Attorney David Hickton.
