Secret Service probe results in indictment
A Bentleyville woman was indicted by a federal grand jury that heard evidence of 44 alleged instances of embezzling and misapplying PNC bank funds while she was employed there last year.
Jessica N. Scola, 32, is accused of obtaining money through electronic transfers, draft checks and ATM withdrawals between Jan. 2 and April 16, 2015. She is also charged with theft.
U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton announced the indictment Wednesday. If Scola is convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000, or both, at each count of the indictment.
The Secret Service, which investigates matters dealing with currency, conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in the case.
