Interstate 79 crash injures at least one
One person was flown by helicopter after a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 79 in Amwell Township on Sunday afternoon.
A Washington County 911 supervisor said the accident, which involved a box truck, occurred on the southbound side of I-79 near mile marker 29. The crash was reported at 4:10 p.m.
The supervisor said one person was reported injured. The victim was being treated at the scene until the medical helicopter arrived and transported the victim to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh.
Details about the person’s condition weren’t available.
As of 5:35 p.m., I-79 was open in both directions near the area of the crash, according to state police.
