Police beat May 4
Bicycle stolen: Ashley Patat of Euclid Avenue, Canonsburg, told Canonsburg police Monday her smoke-gray Fuji mountain bicycle was stolen from McDonald’s, Bobby Vinton Boulevard, while she was working.
Checks stolen: Meghan Hunker of 520 Blaine Ave. told Canonsburg police Monday checks she had ordered were stolen. Her bank confirmed the checks were sent to her home.
Harassment charge: Rodney D. Holub Jr., 24, of Ellsworth, will be charged with harassment by state police after he reportedly got into a physical confrontation with Derek R. Anderson, 25, of Ellsworth, Saturday night at the Moose Club, West Chestnut Street, Canton.
Window damaged: Gary Coleman of 108 W. Wylie Ave., Canton, told state police April 24 a window was broken at his home.
Assault case: Daniel Towler, 29, who has two addresses in Monessen, is charged by city police with simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness, court records show. Towler is accused of striking his girlfriend, Kiana Crosby, several times in the back about 6:15 a.m. Monday at 338 Chestnut St. He is free on $2,500 unsecured bond set by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Theft charge: Melissa Nelson, 41, of 10 Brown Ave., Canonsburg, was charged Monday by North Franklin police with retail theft after she allegedly stole items valued at $113 from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, April 25. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Woman charged: Carrie Mattie, 44, of Allison, Fayette County, was charged Monday by North Franklin police with retail theft and theft by deception after she allegedly stole perfume Saturday from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, and tried to return it for a gift card. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Assault charge: Douglas Mikec, 52, of McMurray was arrested and charged with simple assault Monday stemming from an altercation with Janet Susoeff, 48, at their residence in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Drive, police said. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance by District Judge James Ellis. Mikec’s preliminary hearing is set for June 16 before Ellis.
DUI alleged in crash: Natalie Ann Pezzelle, 55, of 628 Delaware St., Monessen, was charged by Rostraver police with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle crash Sunday on Turkey Hollow Road. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Scattering rubbish charge: Martin J. Mayernik, 67, of 479 Route 31, Ruffsdale, was charged by Rostraver police with scattering rubbish and driving with a suspended license after he allegedly discarded waste Sunday afternoon on Goodwill property on Finley Road. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Theft charges: Tyler Minor Holmes, 22, of 402 Demuth Road, Connellsville, was charged Tuesday by Rostraver police with retail theft and attempted theft by deception for allegedly stealing items from Walmart, Sara Drive, April 27, and then trying to return merchandise for cash. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Woman charged: Julie Lynn Maynard, 31, of 211 Crawford St., Houston, was charged Tuesday by Rostraver police with retail theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. She is accused of stealing toys from Walmart, Sara Way, April 2, and then returning the items for a gift card. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Burglary, theft arrest: Christian Paul Snyder, 43, of McKeesport, was arrested Monday by Rostraver police on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. He is accused of entering a relative’s home on College Circle April 10 and stealing a generator, mower, two chain saws, a weed trimmer and a drill valued at $1,650. He was arraigned before District Judge Jason Buczak and placed in Westmoreland County jail on $25,000 bond.
Charged in theft: Marci Lee Trussell, 40, of Bentleyville, was charged Monday by state police with theft and possession of a controlled substance. She is accused of stealing Oxycodone pills from an elderly Somerset resident while working as a home care aide for the woman. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Assault charge: Andrew Brown, 26, of 598 Vanceville Road, Eighty Four, is charged by state police with simple assault over accusations he choked his girlfriend, Lyric Behanna, in his vehicle outside his residence early Monday, court records show. He is free on $10,000 unsecured bond set by District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Vehicle entered: Marcie L. Sander of 760 Michigan Ave. told South Strabane police Saturday her Home Shopping Network card was stolen from her vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the lot at her apartment complex.
Multiple charges: A Washington man was arrested Monday on multiple charges stemming from an incident at 1602 Donnan Ave. According to a criminal complaint, South Strabane Township police found Kevin Demain, 39, of 690 Maple Terrace View, at the Donnan Avenue address in an intoxicated state. Police said Demain admitted to fighting with his mother and stepfather, who live at the address. Demain was told not to return and was transported to his residence. But police said Demain returned three other times and was arrested and charged with public drunkenness and loitering and prowling at night. Demain was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge James Ellis and jailed on $1,000 bond. Demain’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 17 before District Judge Jay Weller.
Card used: Grace Ellis of 301 Locust Ave. told Washington police Monday her debit card was used without her permission to make $253 in purchases.
Money owed: Mark Jones of 720 Ewing St. told Washington police Monday he sold a pug to a Washington woman and allowed her to take it after paying a deposit. He told police she never paid the balance owed. Charges are pending, police said.
Items stolen: Bridgett McCreight of 1294 Donnan Ave. told Washington police Monday two pairs of sunglasses and other items were stolen from her vehicle over the weekend. The items were valued at $425, she told police.
Harassment charges: Clarence Edwards, 49, and Shatavia Edwards, 34, both of 139 Jollick Manor, will be charged by Washington police with harassment after allegedly getting into a physical confrontation Monday with Alicia Edwards of Washington at their home.
