Police beat May 7
Card stolen: Megan Barrett of 526 Moore Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday a Home Depot gift card was stolen from her home.
Burglary reported: Jane Sopo of the 500 block of Euclid Avenue told Canonsburg police Thursday $500 and costume jewelry were stolen from her home.
Identity stolen: William J. Brown of Duquesne told police his personal information, including Social Security number, was used to open a Pay Pal account.
Cash, items stolen: Frank Pliska of 11 S. Jefferson Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday his 17-year-old daughter used his debit card to withdraw $3,700 from his account. He also reported a flat-screen television, laptop computer and DVDs stolen from his home. The girl will be charged in a juvenile allegation with theft.
Man assaulted: Donald Jackson, 24, of 429 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with simple assault and harassment over allegations he grabbed Shawn Painter and threw him to the ground before punching him several times in the head about 1:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue Extension, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued Jackson the charges in a summons Thursday.
Window broken: James Collins of 340 Brigich Road told Chartiers police Friday a window was broken at his home. Charges are pending against the vandal.
Burglary, theft charges: Shawn A. Chesney, 19, of 84 Black Dog Hollow Road, Clarksville, was charged Friday by East Bethlehem police with burglary, criminal trespass, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal mischief, theft, receiving stolen property and driving without a license stemming from an incident Tuesday at 2108 Sandy Plains Road. Chesney allegedly entered the home and stole two cellphones and two sets of keys including, one to a Ford Taurus that was later found on Short Street. Police said he was seen on surveillance with the car at a Brownsville business that day. Police said the car was damaged. Chesney is in Washington County jail on a parole violation.
Unauthorized use: Ashley Harrington of 409 W. Lincoln Ave. told McDonald police Thursday she loaned her vehicle to her sister but it was being driven by a man without her permission.
Faces charges: Scott Robert McNary, 31, of 1024 Rural Drive, Canonsburg, will be charged by North Strabane police with possession of heroin and marijuana after he allegedly overdosed Thursday at 702 S. Central Ave. Police said they found six stamp bags of suspected heroin and paraphernalia. Narcan was used to revive him, police said.
Firearms violation: David James Martell, 48, of 6867 Wall Road, Monongahela, was charged Friday by Rostraver police with providing false information on a firearms application and giving a false statement after he allegedly put false information on an application to buy a gun Dec. 16 at The Gun Rack, Route 136. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Retail theft charges: South Strabane police charged two Pittsburgh women with retail theft and criminal conspiracy for allegedly stealing 52 items of clothing valued at more than $1,200 from Tanger Outlets Thursday. Sheena Marie Oneil, 29, and Selena Harty, 38, both of 1008 Goehring St., were arraigned Friday before District Judge James Ellis and jailed on $2,500 bonds. The women have a preliminary hearing May 19 before District Judge Jay Weller.
Van damaged: A window on a Dodge Caravan owned by Community Action Southwest and used by Try Again Homes was broken while the vehicle was parked Thursday at 365 Jefferson Ave., Washington police said.
Tires slashed: James Hufnagel of 920 E. Maiden St. told Washington police Thursday that all four tires on his vehicle were slashed.
Cellphone stolen: Dennis McCullough of 15 N. Main St. told Washington police Thursday an LG flip cellphone he ordered was stolen from outside his home. He learned that FedEx delivered the package April 7.
Identity stolen: Jordan A. Smith, 21, of Allison Avenue, told Washington police Thursday his personal information was stolen and used by another man for the last three years at a Pittsburgh medical clinic.
