A fire that damaged a vacant garage last month in West Brownsville was deliberately set, a state police fire marshal ruled Thursday.

The arson resulted in $1,000 in damage to the building at 34 W. Main St.

Witnesses told state police they saw two white men leave the building shortly before the fire erupted.

They were both in their 20s, had medium builds and appeared to be about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

One of them has short brown hair and wore light blue jeans and carried a dark book bag over his shoulder. The other man has a mustache. He wore no shirt and has a tattoo sleeve on his left arm. He also carried a dark book bag and wore blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the fire marshal at 724-223-5200.
