Police beat May 12
Items stolen: Joe Cecka of 109 Colonial Way told Canonsburg police Tuesday three rings valued at $7,500 were stolen from the console of his pickup truck. The rear window of the truck was broken and the emergency brake line was cut, police said.
Faces charge: Kevin Staley, 50, of 7 Staley Lane, Washington, faces a charge of driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle into a ditch early Monday on Conklin Road near Brehm Road, North Strabane police said. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where police said blood was drawn to determine his level of intoxication.
DUI charges: Jennifer Cumer, 33, of 90 Beech St., Muse, faces charges of driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of children stemming from an incident about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of Park Place. Police received a report of an intoxicated woman driving a vehicle with a child inside. Police found a 9-year-old girl in the vehicle when they stopped Cumer. Cumer was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for testing to determine her level of intoxication, police said.
Tools stolen: North Strabane police said tools were reported stolen from a pickup truck parked at Candlewood Suites, Meadowlands Boulevard, Tuesday.
Charged with assault: Scott M. McAnallen, 35, of 95-C Graham Ave., South Franklin, was arrested Wednesday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched Kelly Cole in the face and choked her during a confrontation at his home. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Assault arrest: Brian M. Szfranski, 27, of 164 Oak Spring Road, South Strabane, was arrested Sunday night on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly grabbed Courtney Alderson by the arm and twisted it. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Pole struck: Christopher Washington, 24, of 346 Burton Ave., Washington, escaped injury May 5 when his pickup truck went off the 1800 block of East Beau Street and hit a utility pole.
Assault arrest: Edsol A. Borger Jr., 30, of 886 Addison St., Washington, was arrested Tuesday night on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly kicked Cara Andrews during a confrontation at their home. Police said he also threatened her and her mother. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Counterfeit money: Bruce Gaito Sr. of 715 Fayette St. told Washington police Tuesday he was given a counterfeit $100 bill by a man who asked for change Sunday.
Ordinance violation: Jessica Yerger, 25, of 1190 Maple Terrace, Washington, was charged with violating the city ordinance for carrying pepper spray without a license after she allegedly sprayed Shelly Powell, 32, of Baird Avenue, in the face Tuesday. Yerger told police she sprayed Powell because the woman got into her car without permission.
